SEPT 14, KATHMANDU. Home Secretary Nawin Kumar Ghimire conferred the insignia of the post of Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Nepal Police today to newly appointed IGP Kuber Singh Rana.
The insignia was conferred at a function organized at the Home Ministry. The government had decided to appoint him as IGP on Thursday.
Rana who was shouldering the responsibility of the Metropolitan Police Commissioner recently was the first in seniority among his contemporaries.
He took the responsibility of the 23 rd IGP of Nepal Police. Joining as police inspector on Kattik 30, 2040 BS, Rana was promoted to additional inspector general of police on Asar 9, 2068 BS.
Born in Bougha -5 in Palpa district on Saun 6, 2017 BS, he is a graduate in sociology.
On the occasion, Home Secretary Ghimire said his ministry will cooperate as far as possible to make the organization professional and disciplined by ending the wrong tendencies in the police force. Newly appointed IGP Rana said he would be committed in the campaign of maintaining law and order in the country and to control the non-professional conduct including financial irregularities.
