The aircraft of Tara Air met with an accident at Jufal Airport in Dolpa on Friday as it was about to make a flight to Nepalgunj.
There were no casualties, although some parts of the twin otter (9N ABQ) have been reported to be damaged. Seven people were reported to be on board including the aircraft staff.
According to eye witnesses the aircraft skidded 50 meters off the runway, at around 9 27 am today. The aircraft went on to hit the fence damaging the left wing, left engine and wheels. The landing gear of the aircraft has also been broken.
Pilot Sunil Joshi, co-pilot, Basanta Lama, airhostess Alisa Bajracharya, engineer K Sharma and R Shahi along with passengers K Rokaya and S Buda were on board the Tara aircraft.
The aircraft was leased from Nepal Airlines Corporation.
Meanwhile, another aircraft of Tara Air averted accident when wheels of the aircraft, landing at the Pokhara airport, were punctured. However, the pilots kept the aircraft under control.
