The Administration of the Thapathali based Paropkar Maternity Hospital has made internal preparations to resume the Operation Theater, which has been closed for the past three days.
Publishing a notice, the Hospital Administration closed the Operation Theater from Friday evening for four days after women receiving surgery from the hospital started to fall ill.According to Director at the Hospital, Dr. Sheela Verma, investigation and study are underway on the cause of infection by closing the Operation Theater.
Around 80 women per day receive the maternity service in the Hospital. Of them, around 25 women give birth to children through caesarean operation.Women having poor financial condition who visit the hospital from out of the valley have been hard hit with the closure of the Operation Theater.
Dr. Verma said they have run other services though the Operation Theater was closed and added that preparation is underway to resume the surgery service again.
Women who received surgery had developed different symptoms including fever, dizziness and headache. The Hospital has the capacity of 415 beds.
