Parties grieve over Singh's demise

KATHMANDU: Different political parties have expressed their feeling of sorrow over the demise of the revolutionary leader Ramraja Prasad Singh.

Lauding his intellectual contribution to promote republican values in the country, CPN-M said the loss of Singh is irreplaceable and has extended a heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.

Meanwhile, Janamorcha Nepal has expressed the feeling of sympathy and grief over the death of Singh.

Nepal Communist Party- Unified Marxist also articulated a feeling of sympathy and sorrow over the passing away of Singh.

UCPN-Maoist-led government has already decided to confer Rastra Gaurav Manpadavi on Singh posthumously.

Singh, who is taken for the first advocator of republicanism in Nepal, died at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) on Wednesday morning. He was 77.

Singh’s body would be cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat with state honours but prior that his body is kept at Khula Manch till 3 pm for the final tribute and for a last glimpse of the revolutionary leader.
