Leadres start discussion to resolve disputes

Top leaders of the three major political parties held discussions today to resolve the disputed issues of the constitution three months after the dissolution of the Constituent assembly (CA).

Leaders of the UCPN-Maoist, Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML have started discussion focusing on issues of constitution –state restructuring, electoral system and judicial system- in which they could not forge consensus before.

The meeting held at the residence of CPN-UML Chairman, Jhalanath Khanal, in Dallu agreed to start discussion on the disputed issues.After the meeting, Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, said discussion on content has been started from today.
He said serious discussion was held on how to find a solution to the disputed issues of the constitution and added that solution will be found out soon.

Similarly, Vice-president of the NC, Ram Chandra Paudel said discussion will be held continuously to finalise the disputed issues of the constitution through consensus.
Likewise, General Secretary of the UML, Ishwor Pokhrel said discussion was held from a new angle to resolve the political and constitutional crisis and added they agreed to continue the discussion.

President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav on Thursday had called the top leaders of the major three political parties at the Office of the President and urged them to resolve problems.The parties started serious discussion from Thursday to resolve the disputed issues of the constitution.

Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Amik Sherchan of the UCPN-Maoist, Sushil Koirala, Ram Chandra Paudel and Krishna Sitaula of the NC and Jhalanath Khanal, Bamdev Gautam and Ishwor Pokhrel were present in the meeting.
