Alternative Energy Promotion Center has installed solar panels at 500,000 households across the nation.
Solar panels were installed at the houses throughout the country under a programme which was started with the purpose of lighting the homes of the people of rural areas. The solar panels were installed through government, private sector and different projects, it is learnt.
According toVice-Chairman of the Nepal Solar Electricity production Association, Deepak Bahadur Shahi, solar panels have been installed considerably in rural areas of late. The Association has been co-working with the Center.
Shahi said now there is a demand from around 200,000 households yearly for installing solar panels but there is only a programme for installing solar panels to 80,000 households as per the government plan.
